Flags:

Pictures of flags of states and territories of the planet Earth. The images may be used with the script-fu "fluttering-flag.scm" to produce animated flags. The height of these images is 100 pixels. Their width is variable since the proportions of flags are varying from 1:1 (e.g. Switzerland) to 2:1 (e.g. UK).

There is one exception below 1:1, Nepal with 0.82:1 which is a special case since its shape is not rectangular, but a kind of 2 superposed triangles. There is also one exception above 2:1, Qatar with a proportion of 2.54:1.

Between the proportion 1:1 which is rather rare and the proportion 2:1, the proportion 3:2 is the most used flag format. At least 22 different proportions can be found among the flags of the world.
